Safety/Venues/ Info:
All parts of the Menehune division are on the Ooltewah Athletic Complex Campus. The Groms–Koa divisions will be biking between the campus and Ooltewah High School (OHS) via Mountain View Road. All divisions are Open (to all ages) with the exception of the Menehune this is for 10 and under only. No kids under 11 will be riding on Mountain ViewRoad. They are restricted to Menehune or Groms B. If young athletes want a little more of a challenge we have the Groms B Division, longer distances but on campus. If you wish to compete you may compete in teams. (IE one person to swim and one to bike and run, you can only have two per team.)
Times:
We will be checking in and numbering competitors starting at 7:15am. Race starts at 8:00am.
Swimming:
All swimming legs take place at Ooltewah Swim Center. The swimming legs will be swum in a snake like fashion, moving through the lanes, down and back, hence the distances. Six lengths of the pool are equal to 150m.
Biking:
All biking legs will take place on the stretch of road between OSC and OHS, approximately 1.2 miles. All riders regardless of division must wear a helmet.
Running:
All upper division running takes place at OHS track. Lower divisions will run the “Big Loop” on campus.
Timing:
I need volunteers for this. Athletes will be numbered according to Division and start time. We will be using a running time for each division. Athletes will start 10 seconds apart upon completion their set back will be subtracted from the time called out when they finish. (IE an athlete with the number M20 will be in the Menehune division and will have 20 seconds subtracted from there finish time.)
Rewards:
